This Friday, June 3rd at 11am EST, The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute will be hosting an event called “Prayers In Action” at Washington City Church of the Brethren (337 North Carolina Ave. SE, 20003). This will be an in-person opportunity to pray, lament, and turn guns into garden tools in memory of gun violence victims in the spirit of Isaiah 2:4 which reads, “…and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.”
This Sunday, join us in-person or virtually for The Art of Our Rights: Culture, Justice, and Theology. We will hear from Community Arts Minister, Jessie Houff about the influence of art in human rights movements; Interim Pastor, Chibuzo Petty about the Theology of Hip Hop; and the DC Board of Elections on voter registration, volunteering, and the importance of voting.
This Sunday, May 15 we're having a Potluck after worship! Let's gather and enjoy fellowship with a shared meal.
